This dish tastes best when made with fresh green beans. I serve this for Thanksgiving instead of Green beans casserole.
Prep time: 10 mins; Cook time: 15-20 mins; Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS FOR GREEN BEANS CURRY:
- Cooking oil - 1 Tbsp
- Green beans (cut into 1" pieces) - 1 LB
- Salt to taste -1/2 to 3/4 tsp
- Flavor Temptations Green Beans Spice Mix (contains 3 blends) - 1
- Unsweetened grated coconut (optional) - 1/2 cup
STEPS TO COOK GREEN BEANS CURRY:
- Heat oil in 10” or 12” skillet on medium heat, sputter Blend #1 (seeds) and step back to allow seeds to burst and sizzle, releasing their flavor.
- Add vegetables and sprinkle Blend #2 (powders). Stir to coat spices evenly
- Add Blend #3 (Cayenne) according to preferred spice level: (Hot: add all of it; Medium: add half of it; Mild: do not add any)
- Stir in salt and cook covered on low heat for 6-8 minutes until vegetables are soft, stirring once in between
- Uncover and cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, tossing once or twice until moisture evaporates and vegetables are slightly crispy
- Garnish with unsweetened grated cocunut (optional)
SERVING SUGGESTIONS FOR GREEN BEANS CURRY:
Serve with naan bread or with rice, steak, eggs, or fill in a wrap

Can I use Curry powder instead of individual spice blends?
Technically, you could use Curry powder or a common spice mix. However, this would not provide the authentic taste of traditional spice layering technique that is unique to Indian cooking
Can this recipe be made with meat?
