DESCRIPTION: Cumin is made from the seeds of a plant ‘Cuminum Cyminum’, which is a member of parsley family. The seeds are small, boat shaped and resemble Caraway seeds. The most common variety is brownish-yellow color though black Cumin is also commonly available.  It is available both as whole seed and in powder form. The whole seeds are widely used in Indian cuisine and called Jeera in Hindi. The ground Cumin is used in Middle Eastern dishes.
