DESCRIPTION: VEGAN, Gluten free, Salt free, Indian Food Spices Beginner Seasoning set to make PALAK PANEER MASALA, a tasty VEGETARIAN North Indian curry made with spinach and Paneer or Tofu. Enjoy this delightful dish with Basmati rice or naan bread.

SPICE LEVEL: Mild, Medium, Hot - can be adjusted to taste

INGREDIENTS INCLUDED: Organic spices: Cumin seeds, Turmeric powder, Cayenne powder, Coriander powder, Cumin powder, Garam Masala (my mother’s 7-spice blend of bay leaves, black peppercorns, green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, coriander seeds, cumin seeds)

Cooking Directions (Grocery List & Recipe card included)
  1. Heat oil in 12” skillet on medium heat, add Cumin Seeds and step back to allow seeds to burst and sizzle, releasing their flavors
  2. Add onions and cook until onions are soft and transparent
  3. Add ginger and garlic, cook for 1 minute
  4. Add Turmeric powder, Coriander powder and Cumin powder and cook for 1-2 minutes, releasing fragrant aromas
  5. Add Cayenne according to preferred spice level:
    (Hot: add all of it; Medium: add half of it; Mild: do not add any)
  6. Add tomatoes and cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until tomatoes are soft and oil separates
  7. Add spinach, salt, and just enough water to cover the spinach
  8. Cook covered 5-6 minutes on medium heat, until spinach is soft
  9. Blend mixture using a blender to a coarse consistency
  10. Add paneer / tofu and Garam Masala. Uncover and simmer on low heat until sauce thickens to salsa consistency
